The perfect symbiosis of nostalgic design and modern technology: the FRANKFURT Stereo retro car radio – visually an original from the 1970s, technically a state-of-the-art device.

With the classic dimension’s of 1970s dashboard devices, rotary and push buttons, and a black front with chrome frame, the FRANKFURT Stereo exudes authentic retro charm in the classic car cockpit. Beneath its timeless exterior lies state-of-the-art technology: equipped with a Blaupunkt high-end tuner, it offers FM, AM and DAB+ for excellent reception and sound.

In addition to classic radio reception, the device impresses above all with audio streaming and hands-free telephony via Bluetooth, including access to the smartphone phone book and voice assistants such as Siri or Google.

There is also a USB charging function for mobile phones, a steering wheel remote control connection and the option to deactivate ignition-plus detection.

Last but not least, the nostalgic radio delivers rich sound with a high level of user comfort thanks to various sound presets, a 4-channel preamplifier output, sub-out and 4x 75 watts (at 2 ohms) output power.

The device can be installed in various dashboard mounting slots. For example, mounting materials are included for axle mounting and 1-DIN mounting slots.

3-inch digital colour display

The digital screen perfectly replicates the analogue era, featuring a period-style frequency scale. On the Frankfurt Stereo models, a digital needle moves across the scale with striking realism when the user operates the station tuner, a design that bears a remarkable resemblance to the front panel of the original units. A special detail for classic car enthusiasts: the analogue display can activate automatically during operation, much like a screensaver, and the scale can remain illuminated for a user-defined period even after the radio is turned off. For enthusiasts who showcase their vehicles at meets, exhibitions, or trade shows, this analogue display creates a particularly authentic and period-correct overall look.

Authentic materials and a premium tactile feel

During development, Blaupunkt placed special emphasis on the quality of the controls and an authentic tactile experience. The front panels are made of genuine metal, conveying an exceptionally solid and premium impression from the very first touch. The rotary knobs and push-buttons were also deliberately designed to authentically replicate the feel of operating classic car radios from the 1960s and 1970s. Precise mechanics, high-quality materials, and tangible feedback during operation create an experience that comes remarkably close to the original.
